Mérida International Airport (MID) is the closest, about 20-30 minutes from El Centro. Cancun International Airport (CUN) is another option about 3.5 hours away by car. For those flying into Cancún, you can also take the Tren Maya (Maya Train), which travels from Cancún to Mérida in about 3 to 4 hours.
Upon exiting the airport, use official taxis with visible branding and authorized plates. Estimated cost to downtown Mérida: $600 MXN / $30 USD. If the vehicle does not have a taximeter, we recommend agreeing on the fare before getting in. Please note that ride-sharing apps, such as Uber and Didi, are not permitted to pick up passengers directly outside the airport terminals. You may need to walk a short distance to a nearby pickup point. These services work well throughout the rest of Mérida. As an alternative to Uber, locals often use Didi. We recommend downloading the Didi app in advance to ensure you have flexible options during your stay.

We are thrilled to welcome you to Mérida in early December, which is widely considered one of the most comfortable times of year to visit. Expect gorgeous, warm tropical days with average daytime highs around 82–85°F (28–29°C), perfect for exploring the vibrant city or relaxing by the pool. As the sun sets, the air cools down to a very pleasant 65–68°F (18–20°C), ideal for our outdoor celebration. While it is rarely rainy this time of year, we recommend bringing a light sweater or wrap for the evenings, as the humidity drops and nights can feel refreshing.
