FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore all the kiddos in our life, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration, with the exception of the children in our wedding party. Due to guest number limitations, we unfortunately cannot accommodate guests under the age of 21. Since the wedding is in Italy, we know many of you may wish to make this a family trip. If you’d like to travel with your children and other family members, there are nearby hotels where families can stay (stay tuned for a list of hotels nearby). We hope this gives you the opportunity to enjoy a memorable Italian adventure with your loved ones — while still joining us for our wedding festivities!

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Rome (FCO-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport) or Florence (FLR-Amerigo Vespucci Airport). Rome is about a 2.5-3 hour car ride to Borgo di Celle (the venue/hotel) and has the most direct flight options from the US. Florence is about a 1.5-2 hour car ride to the venue, but is a smaller airport so flight options will be more limited. If you're having trouble deciding between flying into Rome or Florence, we recommend you take into consideration the flight prices and cost of private transfers.

Question

When should I arrive in Italy?

Answer

We suggest arriving the morning of June 24th (the day of the welcome dinner), or a day or two earlier to adjust to the time zone and explore a bit before the festivities begin! Keep in mind the long flight time from the US to Italy. A direct flight from Texas to Italy is roughly 10 to 11 hours, from East Coast is ~8 to 9 hours, and from West Coast is ~12 to 13 hours. A flight with 1 layover from Texas to Italy can be ~12 to 15 hours, from East Coast can be ~10 to 13 hours, and from West Coast can be ~13 to 16 hours. ****So, if you want to arrive on June 24th and make it to the welcome dinner, you'd want to fly out at least a day before (June 23rd) and make sure the arrival time in Italy is sometime in the morning on June 24th.

Question

How do I get to Borgo di Celle (the hotel/venue) in Umbria?

Answer

You can either rent a car, take public transportation or book a private driver. From Rome airport, the drive to Borgo di Celle is about 3 hours. From Florence airport, the drive to Borgo di Celle is about 1.5 hours. We recommend booking a private driver for the most convenient and stress-free option—it will take you directly to the venue from your pickup location. We are happy to help arrange your ride as well. REFER HERE FOR PRIVATE DRIVER RECOMMENDATIONS AND QUOTES: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1snGp7snHS2bnz8kPZvQlIF6ovmVlu6DmiNe-Qzpei1I/edit?usp=sharing ***Most private transfers can take 2-3 passengers (sedan) or 4-7 (minivan) passengers, so we recommend you coordinate with others to get the best bang for your buck.

Question

Do I need to book my own lodging?

Answer

Not if you plan to stay at Borgo Di Celle. We have exclusive access to the venue, Borgo di Celle, and guests are invited to stay on-site with us! Rooms are $500 for a 2-night stay (June 24-26), which includes breakfast each morning. The majority of rooms sleep up to two people; however, there are a few rooms that can accommodate 3-4 guests. You can Venmo or Zelle one of us whenever you're ready to reserve your stay. - Karla's venmo: @Karla-Markowitz - Dylan's venmo: @DylanPaxson

Question

Answer

Question

Passport reminder!!!

Answer

A valid passport is required. Don't have a passport yet? Apply at least 3-4 months before your trip. Apply no later than February or March 2026 to be safe. Routine processing can take 6-8 weeks, and even longer during peak seasons. Expedited service is faster, but not guaranteed, so the EARLIER the BETTER! Already have a passport? Double-check your expiration date and renew early if needed. Make sure your passport doesn’t expire within 6 months of your travel dates. IMPORTANT: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date in Italy. Since our wedding is in June 2026, your passport should be valid through at least December 2026.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We don’t have a strict dress code. Our biggest wish is for you to feel your best! If you need guidance, anything from Summer Cocktail to Garden Party works. Think lightweight fabrics and styles you’ll feel most comfortable in for an outdoor ceremony and reception. For the guys: suits are optional, not required. Dressy pants with a short-sleeve button-down or polo are perfectly appropriate.

Question

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

Please note that our ceremony will take place on grass, followed by dinner and dancing on cobblestone. To keep everyone upright and dancing all night, we suggest opting for something more terrain-friendly (e.g, block heels, wedges, flats, loafers, or chic sandals). You probably want to leave the stilettos in the states!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

In Umbria, where our wedding will be, expect warm and sunny days, with daytime temperatures around the low to mid-80s, and nighttime lows in the low to mid-60s. If you plan to explore Rome or Florence before or after the wedding, expect slightly higher temperatures.

Question

Can we extend our stay at Borgo di Celle?

Answer

Yes! If you wish to stay at Borgo di Celle before and/or after the wedding events, the hotel is offering our guests a discounted rate per room. Reach out to us if this is something you're interested in!

Question

What currency is used in Italy?

Answer

Italy uses the Euro (€). Most major credit cards are accepted, but having some euros on hand is helpful for small shops or cafes.
