Karla first saw Eddie at a Catholic young adult group event they both attended, but nothing really happened. A few weeks later, Karla came across Eddie again through the same group’s Instagram account and started following him. It only took Eddie two months before he finally noticed Karla’s follow and wrote her a direct message - because he thought she looked familiar (and very cute). They talked for a few days and agreed to meet in Wynwood on January 11, 2020. Within the first hour of their first date, Eddie knew he had met someone very special. Something about Karla put him at ease, and they spent the evening talking and laughing effortlessly over dinner, drinks, and coffee. As the night came to a close, Eddie was ready to make his move, but at the last moment, Karla stood up on her toes and stole their first kiss. The next several weeks were a whirlwind of frequent coffee dates and dinners until the pandemic lockdowns took us all by surprise.
