We're Getting Married

Our first “official” meeting happened online (shout out to Coffee Meets Bagel), but the real spark lit up on Instagram during the early days of the pandemic. After a month of messages, memes, and late-night conversations, we decided to meet in person. Our first date? In-N-Out burgers at Pantera Park in Diamond Bar, CA. We spent hours walking, talking, and laughing—bonding over how our college years shaped us and how our ambitions would shape our future. Just two weeks later, during a getaway to Big Bear, we knew we had found something rare and lasting. From the beginning, both of our families welcomed this new relationship with open arms. They were eager to get to know us as a couple and fold each of us into their unique traditions. Our siblings and closest friends quickly became part of our shared circle—people we know we’ll grow old with and who will play a big role in our future family’s life. Their love and support have been a constant source of strength throughout our journey together. Talk about a plot twist! In November 2024, we started house hunting, which made getting engaged that year feel like a far-off dream. But Manny had other plans. After finding a new home, we knew we’d soon be moving away from our friends. To mark our “last hooray” as neighbors, they invited us to Descanso Gardens for a Christmas light festival. Under a canopy of glowing trees and twinkling lights, Manny surprised me by getting down on one knee. Tan solo dos semanas después, durante una escapada a Big Bear, supimos que habíamos encontrado algo único y duradero. Desde el principio, nuestras familias recibieron esta nueva relación con los brazos abiertos. Estaban deseosos de conocernos como pareja e integrarnos a cada uno en sus tradiciones únicas. Nuestros hermanos y amigos más cercanos se unieron rápidamente a nuestro círculo: personas con las que sabemos que envejeceremos y que desempeñarán un papel importante en la vida de nuestra futura familia. Su amor y apoyo han sido una fuente constante de fortaleza durante nuestro camino juntos. En noviembre de 2024, empezamos a buscar casa, lo que hizo que comprometernos ese año pareciera un sueño lejano. Pero Manny tenía otros planes. Después de encontrar un nuevo hogar, sabíamos que pronto nos mudaríamos lejos de nuestros amigos. Para celebrar nuestra "última alegría" como vecinos, nos invitaron a Descanso Gardens a un festival de luces navideñas. Bajo un dosel de árboles brillantes y luces centelleantes, Manny me sorprendió arrodillándose. Ahora, estamos más que emocionados de comenzar este próximo capítulo y celebrarlo rodeados de todos los que han sido parte de nuestra historia de amor hasta ahora.
