Question

I have never travelled internationally, what are some tips?

Answer

- Have a valid passport !!!! - It will be required prior to entering Italy to complete an online form for entrance into the country. While it's not advised to wait until the days prior to travel, it can be completed just before traveling internationally. A reminder will be sent out to all guests in order to ensure that this is completed prior to travel and to clarify any concerns. - Review airline luggage size restrictions as they may differ from the U.S. - It is wise to bring along euros (can be exchanged at a bank prior to travel-usually is the best exchange rate that way rather than waiting until the airport or upon arrival to Italy) and a travel credit card (avoid foreign transaction fees) if able to - Whatsapp is utilized widely in Italy and can be very convenient to message/call Italian phone #s or others that have the app downloaded within your group - Placing an apple airtag in checked bags can put your mind at ease when traveling abroad although some airlines offer tracking with use of their app (ex: Delta) - Bring along a converter as the outlets are different from the U.S. in most hotels and must require a converter for use of chargers, hair tools, etc. - Take a photo of your passport and keep photo in email or phone for records while traveling - Be alert in any new place, pickpocketing can be a problem usually more so in larger cities such as Rome. It is wise to keep all important belongings in a zipped crossbody & secured rather than thrown in a bag, backpack, or easily accessible in a pocket especially if traveling in large crowds. - Restaurants in Italy commonly open for lunch between 12:30-3pm and dinner is commonly served late from 7:30-10:30pm - Research areas and things to do in advance to have an idea of how to spend days in Italy, relax and have fun !!
