What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal attire requested. We kindly ask that you do not wear white or ivory dresses. No white suits. The path to the ceremony is paved but the chairs are placed on the grass. Be mindful of your shoes!

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

It is much easier to use Google Maps. Apple Maps can have a hard time finding the property sometimes. The Oakdale RVA is located at 13497 Ashland Road, Ashland, VA 23005. There are two roadside entrances labeled as The Oakdale, and it can be confusing as only one leads to the venue. Follow the signs that day leading you to the wedding!

Are there any drugstores near the venue?

Answer

The Oadkdale RVA is located out on a real farm, about 10-15 minutes away from the closest stores. We have provided extra amenities in the bathrooms such as Tylenol, Advil, mouthwash, etc. for things you may need unexpectedly. There is no ATM on-site so we recommend ensuring you have anything you may need for getting home ahead of driving over to the wedding.

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes, and parking is free! Note: The road is gravel. Rest assured, there will be an attendant escorting guests from their cars in the parking lot to the main entrance of the venue in golf carts. You can also be dropped off right at the door and have the car circle back to park. You can also drive right up to the venue's doors to drop off others and circle back to park. Ubers/Lyfts can also drive right up to the door.

What if I'm not driving?

Answer

Not to worry! The Oakdale RVA is located just a quick Uber/Lyft away from town. If you are utilizing Uber/Lyft for the ride home, it is highly recommended that you pre-book it because it can be a long wait otherwise. The venue is not on a main road.

Are there goats? Cows?

Answer

Why, yes - glad you asked! Oakdale is located on a working farm so keep an eye out for goats near the parking lot and for cows in the far pastures. Hope you get to see one! Bonus Fun Fact: the water used on the farm is natural well water!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The doors open at 5pm and the ceremony begins promptly at 5:30pm. We ask guests to arrive with enough time to get settled in before the ceremony begins. If you arrive before 5pm, kindly enjoy a glass of wine at the tasting room located before the parking lot. The ceremony will be outside if the weather permits. The path to the ceremony is paved but the seats are on grass. Mind your shoes! In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We want to celebrate our special day with our closest friends and family. Your invitation will indicate how many seats we have reserved in your honor and we ask that you do not bring any extra guests.

This is a non-smoking venue. Smoking is only allowed within a special designated area. Thank you.
