Our story began about a year ago, in March of 2024. Both of us were searching for something truly special: a best friend with whom we could build a God-glorifying relationship. To do this, we decided to broaden our search and open our hearts to all possibilities. Each of us started exploring online dating profiles from around the world. It was during this search that we came across each other. Even though we were more than 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometers) apart (between Bolivia and the United States), we felt a spark of mutual curiosity and decided to reach out to one another, not knowing what might come of it. And although some of our first messages were a little awkward, uncertain, and hesitant, we began to see something worth exploring. So, we decided to get to know each other better. What followed was an instant and deep connection, built on shared values of faith in Christ and an emotional bond so strong that the hope of one day sharing life together started to take root in both our hearts. Not only had we found a partner with whom we wanted to share life forever, but also a best friend who would be there through the good and bad times. From that point on, things started moving quickly. What began as simple WhatsApp messages turned into meaningful and regular conversations, which eventually evolved into long video calls. Our friendship blossomed as we discovered how much we had in common, especially our love for God and the way we genuinely cared for one another. It didnโt take long before it felt natural to transition from being friends to becoming a couple. So, in September, we met in person in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Despite the uncertainty, insecurity, and fear of what might happen when we saw each other face to face for the first time, we both knew this was something uncommon. The connection was so effortless and comfortable that it felt as though we had already known each other for years. And yes, that connection was very noticeable even to people who had never seen us together before. As the days passed, our bond deepened even further, and just a few days before Kyle returned to the United States, we made the decision to formalize our hopes and deepest feelings through a private engagement between us, with the blessing of our parents. And although it may have seemed very fast, we both had peace and certainty in our hearts that we were doing the right thing before God and even our parents. But thatโs not where it ends! Since everything happened so quickly, we decided to have a more public celebration with Gaby's family and friends in Bolivia in February, with better planningโand yes, our wedding will follow soon after!
