We met at a mutual friend's ugly Christmas sweater party, and we both wore sweaters with pugs on it! We thought it was funny but didn't really think much about it. A few months go by, and we would occasionally see each other at different events. Karina heard from a friend that Chase thought she was cute. After that, they went on their first date together at an Italian restaurant and the rest was history!

We have a strong love for travel and decided to vacation in Japan to meet Karina's grandma for the first time ever. While we were in Kamakura visiting one of the tallest Buddha statues in Japan, we took a break from the crowd and took a picture in a zen garden. Karina was about to walk away to sit down but Chase grabbed her hand and got down on one knee. We were both teary-eyed as he asked for her hand in marriage.
