Waiting to buy food and drinks during a night out with friends - Karina and Alex met when they bumped into each other in line. Alexander walked up to place his order and offered to pay for Karina's order too. While they waited for their food and drinks they talked about college, where they went to church, and work. Karina was smitten! She made sure to run into Alex as many times as possible that night and introduced him to her friends, as her fiance! Each time she "bumped" into him again they struck up more conversations, danced, ate and drank. Karina loved Alexanders outgoing personality + he was handsome. Alexander loved how Karina spoke about her job and passions in life. By the end of the night Alexander asked for her number and a week later they had their first date - a hike up Runyon Canyon + breakfast at The Griddle Cafe. Now, almost 7 years later they are still eating, dancing, talking, and hiking together <3
Alexander is notorious for planning surprise dates - so when he asked Karina out for a date on Saturday April 6, 2019 it was no big deal. Alex picked her up and as always Karina began guessing where they were going. She realized it was The Getty Museum and Alex nodded - "Yup, we're headed for a Philharmonic Concert." Karina was SO excited! When they arrived she looked over the museum events and decided they'd do the 12PM tour but Alex wanted to walk the garden to see "special flowers that change color" (which Karina thought was weird). She reluctantly agreed and as they walked the garden a photographer asked to take a picture of them. Karina quickly said "Nope!" and Alex said "Sure...Yes." After snapping a few pictures Karina thought she saw her and Alex's ENTIRE family (it couldn't be?!). Confused, she turned to Alex.... and he was down on one knee!!!!! He asked "Bestfriend - Will you marry me?" Karina said "YES!" with a face full of tears, a heart exploding with joy, and applause from their entire families + museum staff Alexander coordinated with + spectators at the museum. The photographer was in on the whole thing and captured the beginning of the #LopezLovebirdsWed After the proposal both families enjoyed lunch on the terrace. Special thanks to : - our families for attending and helping organize an amazing surprise proposal - Monica Orantes for taking Karina to do her nails the night before (part of the proposal plan) - Alyssa Covarrubio for visiting the museum with Alexander days before to help him coordinate details + decorations + find the perfect spot to pop the question
