Like most friendships these days, this one began online. We were both active in a Facebook group for people in the radio industry. One day, Jared reached out to Karina for some advice and we became instant best friends. When Jared was working for a radio station in San Diego, Karina went to vacation there with some friends. That's when we met in real life for the first time. Karina pretty much dragged Jared around the city and to the beach. He even took her and her cousin to get tattoos. That's when Karina knew Jared was truly an amazing man. I mean he did all that without a single complaint! lol! Little did she know, that's when Jared knew she was the one.
After a terrible year, we could only hope 2020 could end on a positive note. That's when Jared asked my dad for permission to marry me. Almost instantly, my dad said yes and immediately called me over. At that point I knew what was coming. Jared still wanted a surprise element so a distraction came by making everyone open up Christmas gifts. When I least expected it, Jared grabbed me and got down on one knee. The rest is a blur, but I said yes! Then we both tripped over each other. LOL. We wouldn't expect anything less.
After getting some uncertain news and the rise of the delta variant, Jared and I decided we should just "get the legal stuff over with." We told our families and our closest friends and then flew to Las Vegas on the anniversary of his father's passing to celebrate him and got married. It was extremely intimate with just my bridesman, David, in attendance and the officiant. It wasn't how we expected our day to be, but it was special to us. Don't worry we will relive it all on March 19th.
