Our story began at Dordt University, it was freshman year when I first noticed this handsome man Levi in our AG classes. Nothing happened quite then due to a trusted roommate, who also happened to be lab partners with Levi, told me he had some growing up to do. Fast forward two years, my best friend and I went to the bar accompanied by her boyfriend and his best friend. Levi and I were forced to sit by each other, instead of getting to sit by our friends. We made the best of the situation and struck up a conversation that ended up lasting well over an hour. I came away thinking that we would make great friends... little did I know that Levi came away from that conversation thinking that he would like to be more than just friends. The next few times we hung out, I was still convinced that we were just friends until the night he held my hand. Over the following three weeks, Levi and I continued to hang out and talk but the semester was quickly coming to a close. We had both agreed to continue our relationship long distance and call once in while, but what I thought would be once a week turned into almost every night. July 12, Levi made the long 13 hour drive to see me in Ohio where I was interning. The following night after a fun filled day of exploring Amish country, Levi built a bonfire and while surrounded by fireflies and and a million stars he FINALLY asked to me to be his girlfriend. The weekend of July 25, 2020, Levi and I went to Sioux Center to visit some of our best friends from Dordt. I had my suspicions something was up since he was acting out of the ordinary and had a massive gift for me on his truck, but he wouldn't say why or what it was. We went tubing on the river and when we got to the end the gift was unloaded off of Levi's truck. I finally got to open the gift and while I was distracted with this beautiful dog house he had built for our puppy, Levi got down on one knee. July 25, 2020 we were FINALLY engaged to be married.
