Chad proposed to Karianne on October 2 during a sunrise hike up Mt. Hunger. They were seeking Vermont's vibrant fall foliage, but instead found themselves surrounded by a thick cloud at the summit. Luckily, they have the same sense of humor, as Chad created a distraction by telling Karianne to turn around and admire the (nonexistent) view. When she turned back around, Chad was on one knee holding his mom's ring.
