Justin's sister Jordyn and my friend Tiffany knew we needed to meet. They gave Justin my phone number. He called and we set a time to "Grab a bite" Justin made the long trip out to Lubbock Red Raider Land for our "blind date" We went to a local brewery where I introduced him to the Chilton. Then went to Double Nickel for Dinner talked and laughed for hours. We have been inseparable since.
A quick trip to Hobby Lobby for a little baggie which I ended up making. Now I needed a way to strategically and carefully place in Heidi’s collar. I probably used more tape than I needed, but that thing was secure. We still had a couple of hours before Kari got back home from work so this was sufficient time for Heidi to get used to this new thing taped to her collar. Luckily Kari was able to take off from work early that day so when she got home a walk or run was mentioned, with running being thrown out real quickly. All this was being discussed while Heidi was getting loved on (Kari didn’t realize there was a ring hidden underneath a ball of tape). So a walk around the park was planned but first she wanted to go check out some lighting for our new house. As she walked into her room to get freshened up (not needed) I thought to myself, well I’m for sure not gonna leave Heidi and Suzzie alone for any amount of time. After a quick prayer I strolled into her room real casual and calm like and layed on her bed watching her fix her hair. Heidi followed and I started scratching her again. However this time I was really concerned about this “new” knot on her. The first time I mentioned it, Kari kinda blew it off saying it was probably allergies or something. But I said there’s something different about it. This got her attention as she made her way to us, I was already on one knee. We were checking this new something out and I noticed tape around her collar. I believe Kari’s first words were “why is there tape on my dog’s collar?” I said “I don’t know”, as I really started getting nervous. After what seemed like an eternity of cutting this tape off with a dull knife, a bright shiny gorgeous ring came out! I asked to most BEAUTIFUL, GOD LOVING, CARING, SMART, FUN girl in the world who still had her hair in all kind of craziness to marry me. She said YES and I am the Happiest man in the world to spend the rest of my life with her!
