How We Met

Her story: We met through mutual friends from school who always talked about how cool and fun he was--needless to say, I was confused when he didn't say one thing to me the first time we met. Eventually, we hung out more and everything was always more fun when he was there. After a couple years of being friends, we went to a bonfire and our knees touched...I was officially smitten. His story: I started hanging out with bigger crowds and me being such a stud, my name got tossed around a lot. Kari heard about my studlyness so she wanted to hang with me more. I thought she was a babe so I started finding ways to be around her more. Then at a bonfire she couldnt stay away and I knew she was mine for the taking. 😏

The Proposal

Her Story: I had been teaching in New Zealand for a few months and Josh was going to fly over for my last week there. At the same time, my best friend Britnie was teaching in Australia and asked if she could visit the both of us. Excited, I planned a road trip for us all across the South Island and our first stop was Lake Tekapo. We walked along the water as Britnie insisted on taking pictures of us; Josh started talking about getting more serious and the next thing I knew, he was down on one knee and I was trying not to ugly cry. I whispered "Yes!" and we were engaged. His Story: Kari was in New Zealand so I couldn’t miss the opportunity for this historic moment. I had been planning with Britnie to come to see Kari the same time I was there so she could be my photographer. Once we were there it was just me finding the right moment to pop the question. Once we reached Lake Tekapo I gave Britnie a look with a smirk that it was time. Along the lakeside of Tekapo tears were shed and many pictures were taken.
