Told by Kari: Dawson and I met playing Wallyball in Warren Michigan. We seen each other in passing and while I would say “Hey!”, Dawson would always say “Hello hello hello”. I would think to myself “that’s kinda odd..” but as time went it was the unique thing about him that made him stand out. We began to hangout through our mutual friends and little did he know I always thought he was kinda cute. We started texting, calling, and doing FaceTime together every day; and before we knew it we were dating! Dawson has so many qualities in him that has drawn me closer to him, and that makes him the perfect one for me! Flash forward.. here we are! So let me say “Hello hello hello”.. we can’t wait for you to be a part of our special day! Told By Dawson: My first time talking to Kari was at a flag football event, I had asked her for her name and how old she was. She asked me to play catch with her and some other friends and I did. But the FIRST actual time I met her was at wallyball, and she would come to me and say “hi”. I was so shy and nervous because I felt I was out of her league, and I thought she was extremely beautiful. So every time she said “hi” I would say “hello hello hello” and when I say that.. that’s how you know I felt nervous. But then as I got to know Kari I got to see how free spirited, fun, energetic, determined, and caring she was. Those qualities drew me closer to her and is why we began talking much more and eventually began dating! Can’t wait to see everyone! Get ready for the BEST wedding of y’alls life!

Told By Kari: I knew that Dawson was going to propose at some point soon but I didn’t know the exact day of when it would happen. I had my suspicions since the day before he proposed I was encouraged to get my nails done, which I only do for special occasions. My suspicions grew when my friends Breyden and Kayleigh told me we were going to a fancy restaurant so we had to dress up. So at that point I knew it had to be that day so it was just a matter of when. After we got ready we left to pick up my friend Myca from work so she could come along. When we got there to her job, Kayleigh and I got out of the car while Breyden went to park and we went inside. It was a very fancy building with a TON of floors! When we got on the elevator it began to rise up, but to our regret it was all glass so we could see outside of it. Let me just say.. that the ride up was horribly terrifying to us since we were slightly scared of heights. The higher we got the more of Detroit we could see.. including Canada! When the floor dinged we couldn’t get off the elevator fast enough! When we got off Myca was waiting for us and before leaving she insisted on giving us a tour. We toured around the restaurant as she pointed out things, including the VIP sections. We kept walking and then we got to a corner.. and there he was! I was not expecting him to be there so I jumped in shock and surprise. When he got to the point of being on one knee he went to take the ring box out of his suit pocket, and while struggling the box flew out and broke! It was the ice breaker for me and calmed my nerves since we both laughed. Of course there’s always that one thing that has to happen! The rest is history and of course.. I said YES! We can’t wait to celebrate with you! See you in Grand Rapids! Told By Dawson: So I had Myca, Breyden, Kadin, and Kayleigh helping me with the proposal. My original plan was to do it on Belle Isle, but I thought it was gonna rain the day I was gonna propose so I switched my plan and did it at Myca’s job. A restaurant called Highlands, it’s like all the way on the 71st floor. I had planned there to be flowers on the ground, like a pathway for Kari to walk towards me and I would be standing on the heart which was also shaped out of flowers. Then I would propose. So on the day of the proposal I had got to the restaurant at 4:20pm preparing the proposal because Breyden and Kayleigh were bringing Kari at 6, so I still had a little time. When I tell you I was SO anxious to finally propose to her.. I really was! I was thinking how much I wanted time to go faster because it had been a long time coming. So then she gets to the place.. and I was super nervous when I see her walk around the corner with Myca and the others. Then when she came towards the area I was in, I was so excited for the moment! She walked towards me and I gave her a hug, I gave my speech then I went down on one knee. I reached for the ring box out of my jacket pocket but it was stuck, so I put a little more pressure. But then the box broke in half which was embarrassing.. but then I grabbed the ring and finally proposed. Of course she obviously said yes! We can’t wait to see you all in January!
