A chuppah is a canopy that symbolizes the home a couple makes together. Kari and Dan will stand under a chuppah during the ceremony.
A ketubah is a Jewish marriage contract. Before the ceremony, Kari and Dan will sign a ketubah with commitments they wrote. It will be displayed during the reception if you’d like to view it. After the wedding, Kari and Dan will display it in their home.
Breaking the glass is a tradition that reminds us life is fragile even in times of joy. Kari and Dan will break the glass by stepping on it at the end of the ceremony. When the glass is broken, shout “mazel tov!” - the Hebrew word for congratulations.
The hora is a traditional Jewish dance that will take place following the arrival of the couple at the reception. All are asked to join in! Instructions will be given.
