Are kids invited?

We love your kids—we really do. But we wanted our wedding to be your night off! We have several recommended babysitters too! Let us know if you want the information!

Question

If I am staying offsite, will transportation be provided?

Answer

Unfortunately we will not be providing transportation, but there is plenty of parking at The Homestead for people who choose to stay offsite.

Why Glen Arbor?

Answer

Michigan is a very meaningful place to both the bride and groom. Karey and her family have been spending summers at Glen Lake since she was a baby and Andrew was born and raised in Grand Rapids. Every year since they began dating, they have made multiple trips a year to enjoy Glen Lake. This place holds a special place in both of their hearts and is a gorgeous place to celebrate their love. They want to share this incredible place with those most important to them.

Are Ubers/Lyfts or cabs easy to get?

Answer

Because Glen Arbor is so small, unfortunately Ubers and Lyfts are not established there yet. Cabs could be arranged, but would need to be done in advance and likely would be pricey since they would be coming from Traverse City (approx 45 minutes away).

What airport would you recommend flying into?

Answer

If money grows on trees, I would recommend flying into Cherry Capital (TVC) in Traverse City, which is approximately a 45 minute drive to The Homestead. However, if you aren't lucky enough to have a money tree, we would recommend one of the following options: Grand Rapids (GRW) - approximately a 3 hour drive Detroit (DTW) - approximately a 4 hour and 30 minute drive Chicago Midway (MDW -- see comment below) - approximately a 5 hour and 45 minute drive Chicago O'hare (ORD) - approximately a 5 hour and 45 minute drive For those who are potentially flying through Chicago-Midway, there is a very reasonably priced airline that flies once a day to Manistee airport (MBL), which is approximately 1 hr and 15 minute drive Check out https://flymanistee.com/
