First Date

May 5th, 2018

Karen and I’s first date wasn’t exactly from a fairytale. We ate at this pretty bad burrito place, then went to a beach that turned out to be not so great. Then she watched me fail to open a coconut (seriously it was pretty embarrassing). The thing is, the night went on and neither of us wanted to go. We had so much fun together, even on a would-be lame day.

The Proposal

July 26th, 2019

Ryan and I went to Kailua Beach for a “typical beach day”. While we were beach bumming it, the view was absolutely gorgeous, but it was super windy. I felt chilly, the sand kept getting in my eyes, and my hair kept slapping my face while Ryan and I were just trying hard to take a nice selfie….I really just honestly wanted to go home! So Ryan suggested we check out one more spot down the road he heard about. When we walked passed the narrow alley to the beach, I saw the setup. There was a white cloth with flowers stuck in the ground surrounding it and a painted heart-shaped box. When I opened it, I saw the ring box. He got down on his knee, and FINALLY popped the question!! OF COURSE, I said YES! I felt tears running down my face and I was so overwhelmed with happiness!!
