Things To Do

Welcome to one of our favorite places. Sedona holds a special place in our hearts. We hope you love it as much as we do. Here are some of our favorite things to do, places to go etc. Most of these are all on the East side of Sedona.

Munds Wagon Trail to Merry Go Round

Munds Wagon Trail, Sedona, AZ 86336

Just off Schnebly Hill you'll find Munds Wagon Trailhead along with several other hike options for every level. Our favorite was the Munds Wagon Trail to Merry Go Round Rock. Merry Go Round is also accessible by Pink Jeep Tours (you'll hear the squeals of delight fro the road whilst on the trail!) Such diverse topography. We didn't go all the way to Merry Go Round, it gets crowded - but rather took pictures of it and then headed back down Schnebly Hill Road

Seven Sacred Pools via Soldiers Pass to Brins Mesa Loop

Sedona, AZ 86336

The 7 sacred pools are cool but the real gem in this hike is Brins Mesa. You can do Brins Mesa on it's own as well. Sweeping panoramic views and juniper forests, meadows and staircase climbs...it's another favorite as it covers so much diverse topography.

Vortex Hiking In Sedona

2675 West State Route 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336

The vortexes in Sedona are swirling centers of subtle energy coming out from the earth. This energy is not exactly electricity or magnetism, although it does leave a slight measurable residual magnetism in the places where it is strongest. Vortexes are thought to enhance energy and provide spiritual inspiration and healing. The experiences are very personal. Some feel tingling sensations, others become quite overwhelmed. Regardless of what you believe about these energy sites, they are most definitely worth a visit as they are beautiful and easy to explore.

Cathedral Rock Drive & Bell Rock Boulevard

Village of Oak Creek, AZ 86351

These are so close together, we did them both in one day. Our yin and our yang! Cathedral Rock is Karen favorite Vortex and an amazing hike. This vortex is said to be softer, tapping into compassion and introspection. Getting all the way to the top is tough (we stopped before the steep climb to the saddle) but we went as high as we could! Bell Rock was Ricks favorite! This is a powerful masculine vortex that often inspires action and solving problems from a higher, more spiritual perspective. Bell Rock was Ricks favorite! Boynton Canyon

AZ 86336

Boynton Canyon is on the west side of town next to the Enchantment Resort. It's a fairly easy and long hike (a bit of a scramble at the top) and also quite popular. Gorgeous scenery throughout, very tranquil. Kachina Woman stems off this path. My mom and I did this hike in 2010!

Airport Mesa

483 Airport Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336

Airport Mesa is in the center of town and known for its masculine energies. The airport loop trail is a about 3 miles of a rocky hike. There is an easy to access overlook where you can park and take in the gorgeous vista. maybe you'll see some colored orbs as others have reported?! As of right now, Rick and I have not done this hike but hope to in May!

Chapel of the Holy Cross

780 Chapel Road, Sedona, AZ 86336

Chapel of the Holy Cross is considered a vortex and truly a beautiful place of worship. It is a steep climb up but there are limited parking spots up top and golf carts are provided for a ride up. The first time Rick and I visited Sedona we stayed at an airbnb in a neighborhood at the bottom of the Chapel and instantly fell in love with the area.

Devil's Bridge Trail

Devil's Bridge Trail, AZ 86336

Devils Bridge is a very popular hike and one of the most photographed areas of Arizona. Great for the Instagram but PLEASE use common sense. Accidents have happened. Getting to the edge and doing crazy things for a picture isn't worth you life. It would also put a damper on our wedding so stick to the middle! Also, it's known to have wait times as long as 45 min in busy seasons for a turn on the bridge. Mid November is the end of high season so the crowds shouldn't be too bad but if the day is nice, expect people.

Honanki Heritage Site

11450 North Loy Butte Road, Sedona, AZ 86336

Honaki Heritage site: This was a cool trip for all you history buffs. Honanki and its sister site, Palatki, were the largest cliff dwellings of the Red Rock country between AD 1150 - 1350. The Sinagua, ancestors of the Hopi, lived here preparing meals, raising their families, and making tools from stone, leather, and wood.

Sedona ATV Rental

2740 West State Route 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336

Of course no trip with Rick is complete without some great four wheeling! Guided and self guided packages are available at several locations. We rented a 2 seater (singles also available) at Sedona ATV rentals and it was awesome. They provide helmets, trail maps, water. Be sure to bring your own extra water and snacks and take your trash with you! They offer Half and Full days (4 and 8 hours) 4 was plenty!

Arizona ATV Adventures

3075 Arizona 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336

They offer 3 hour guided ATV tours.

Pink Jeep Tours

204 North State Route 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336

Many of the sites listed above are accessible by jeep tours, pink jeep being the most popular. A great way to get a lot done in one day!

The Hudson

671 AZ-179 ste d, Sedona, AZ 86336

The Hudson is our favorite. Great steakhouse with views of red rock, bright dining room and cool bar with lots of TV's for you football fans!

Elote is known for their Mexican - the mexican street corn is their signature dish.
