There are many things to do in the area at this time. If you like outdoor activities, you can visit one of the many beaches in the area: King's Beach, Carnelian Bay, Speedboat Beach. If you like to hike, there are many trails surrounding the lake. The hiking trails Marc and Karen like the most are near Emerald Bay, Eagle Falls Trail. If you like the snow, there are many different snow activities to do around this time, specifically snowboarding. There are many resorts surrounding Lake Tahoe (Palisades, Heavenly, North Star and Sugar Bowl), that have activities like: Snow and Disco Tubing, Sledding, and restaurants and shops. If none of these are you thing, there are many spa's and wellness/yoga retreats in the area. Lighthouse Spa, Tahoe Yoga and Wellness and Sage, are just a few of them. Our favorite part of Lake Tahoe, is South Lake Tahoe. You can easily cross from CA to NV, visit many restaurants and casino's in the area. It is our favorite part of the lake. We have also linked a website for a list of activities you can do around this area.
Reno is also known for its Casino's like Vegas, but there are other things to do like visiting museums, hot springs, and outdoor activities. Please refer to the link for various activities in the area.
