All we have to say is dating in your 40s is not for the weak! We were both about to give up until we both swiped right! For those who don't know, Craig is a towboat engineer and he had just gotten back on the boat. So we spent the next 28 days texting, talking, and making video calls all day every day; until our first date on July 8, 2022. The rest you could say is history!

We had many conversations about getting married and our dreams of a life together. Craig bought a ring, asked Karens parents for permission, and talked to Emmy. We planned a vacation to take Emmy to the beach for the first time. Before leaving for vacation, Karen booked a photographer for beach photos. Karen picked out coordinating outfits. We picked out the perfect spot for our family beach photos. Upon our arrival for the photos and while Karen was completely unaware, Craig talked to the photographer about his plan to propose. It was perfect! On the beach...at sunset...just the 3 of us. She of course said yes!
