We've repeated the information here in case you missed the Wedding Attire section. Friday Hiking: Active wear and trail or running shoes with tread are fine. No hiking boots needed. Wear layers. Friday Welcome Dinner (for out of town guests): Wine Country Attire. For the ladies, casual sundresses and a wrap or jacket with sensible shoes as we'll be on uneven ground. For the gents, pants and dress shirt. No jackets required but you might want one for warmth. If you're a hat wearer, this is your opportunity! Saturday Wedding Ceremony, Dinner, and Dancing: Our wedding celebration is 100% outdoors, so may the weather Gods be with us. Garden Party/Wine Country Chic Attire. For the ladies, dresses with a wrap and jacket. For the gents, dress pants and a jacket. No ties needed. Our garden and yard are grassy with some uneven areas, so do leave the stilettos at home and opt for wedges or block heels. And, don't forget your dancing shoes because Chris has curated a killer classic rock 90-minutes of dancing. Remember that during the course of the wedding the temperature will fall around 20 degrees from start to finish so don't forget your layers. Sunday Brunch: Casual. We're old married people now, so no need to dress to impress. Wear whatever you like and don't forget your layers.
October is a one of the most beautiful months in Sonoma. The summer crowds have thinned and the vineyards turn striking shades of orange and yellow and autumn is in the air. Temperatures on average are highs of 79 and lows of 46 degrees. But, we've seen it be 90 degrees in October, too, so please check the weather before packing. One thing you can count on is a big temperature fluctuation from early morning to late afternoon. Big - as in 30-40 degrees difference - so layers are important. And, most all of our events are outdoors, so please plan accordingly.
We're taking a hard stance on this one with a "no gifts" policy and we mean it. We have abundance all around us and prioritize this special weekend experience with you over material goods. And, we are committed to being mindful of our footprint on the Earth so we don't want to contribute to more landfill. Please help us uphold our protection of Mother Earth by NOT getting us a gift. And, if you just can't help yourself, then invite us to visit you, do an activity together, or create another fun memory with you. A great memory is long-lasting and preserves our environment.
We live at the end of a one lane country road, so please allow extra time for arrival and pack your patience. Parking at our house will be limited so please ride with friends and car pool if possible. We'll have parking attendants to assist with parking for the wedding. Please do not park your car without their guidance, as we want to be respectful of our neighbors and need to ensure that a fire truck has the appropriate egress.
In general there are Ubers/Lyfts in Sonoma but it's a sleepy place after 8 pm so you might find yourself without a quick ride home if you don't drive places and haven't reserved a car in advance.
Siesta Farms is what Karen calls our house! :) It's only three acres with some fruits and flowers but there are visions of farm animals dancing in our heads. We're at the end of a one- lane country road and if you put our address into Google Maps you'll find us. As you approach, be on the lookout for a parking attendant who will be assisting with the parking Tetris game. Please DO NOT park without guidance as we want to be respectful of our neighbors and need to maintain fire truck egress.
