If you have any other questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to either Karen at karensusanakim@gmail.com, or our Event Coordinator Amy at awalker@strathmore.org.
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal or dressy casual please, but we want you to feel comfortable as well. The ceremony will be held outdoors, so please try to avoid heels that will likely get stuck in the grass.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

On October 17, the temperature in Rockville typically ranges from 49°F to 65°F and is rarely below 37°F or above 77°F.

Question

Are pets allowed?

Answer

Yes, pets are allowed as long as they stay outdoors.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive a half hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the event started as scheduled.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Parking in the Mansion at Strathmore is free in the Mansion lot on a space available basis. Enter the Mansion lot at 10701 Rockville Pike. Additional parking is available in the Strathmore-Grosvenor Metro garage which is free on weekends.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held on the Outdoor Terrace and the reception will be held indoors at the same location.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bride and groom and their families will be taking pictures nearby which is estimated to be about an hour. Guests will engage in Cocktail hour in the meantime, and then head inside the Mansion for reception.

Question

How many guests will be attending?

Answer

Since our wedding is taking place during COVID-19 times, we would like to let everyone know that a total of 48 guests will be attending the wedding.

Question

What is the Covid protocol?

Answer

Due to the Montgomery County Executive Order, all guests must be masked for any portion of the event that is held indoors. Guests should be masked at all times except when actively eating or drinking or while being photographed. Our staff will remind guests to wear their masks when appropriate. If the guest does not comply after two staff reminders, the Strathmore staff will ask us to speak with our guest to achieve cooperation. If the guest still does not comply, the Strathmore staff will ask us to request the guest to depart. If they do not, and continue to be out of compliance, this will be considered a breach of Strathmore's policy and will put us in jeopardy of losing our Security Deposit. This is something we all wish to avoid.

Question

Will you encourage social distancing?

Answer

We will be making a seating plan based on COVID-19 and social distancing protocol for dinner time – all those seated at one table will be close friends or relatives and tables will be at least 6 feet apart throughout the entirety of the first floor of the Mansion.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay within the social distancing guidelines. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

What safety measures will be taken on your wedding day?

Answer

Food will be served as plated dinner where servers will bring your food to you. Tables will be set at least 6 feet apart and spread throughout the entirety of the first floor of the Mansion.

Question

Do we need to wear a mask?

Answer

Yes, everyone must wear a mask indoors, except when eating or drinking or while being photographed. Please refer to the "What is the Covid protocol" question on this page for more information.
