We first met at the Wynn hotel with other common friends. I think we only said hi to each other and that's it. We all went to a bar together and I remembered how extra friendly he was and that he talked a lot, lol. After we all left, our common friend asked me if I want to get to know him because she thought we have a lot in common (love to eat & travel) and I said no because my daughter was only 7 months old at that time and I did not think I was ready to date. After a few months, we reconnected through Instagram, and we started exchanging messages. We went out for a casual first date, and I immediately told him that I have a daughter, and I am looking for something serious and that I don't want to waste my time. He seemed pretty shocked by it initially, but I think he appreciated the honesty later on lol. After 2 weeks we went on our first trip together to Seattle and that's when he asked me to be his girlfriend. After few months of dating, I decided that it's time for Kairi (my daughter) to meet him. They met at a park, and he tried his best to win her over, but Kairi was not impressed at all. It took her a while to warm up to him. But now, they are closer than ever, and Amit is a great dad to Kairi. I could not ask for a better father to her. He has been there in her life since she was 1 and a half year old. After 2 years of dating, Amit moved in with us and he proposed to me on my 36th birthday on a Disney Cruise. It was surreal and one of the best days of my life. Few months later we decided to buy a house. It was definitely unplanned, but it was one of our best decisions we made. It was a dream come true, and I am truly blessed to have meet him. I feel like I finally met my soulmate and my best friend for life. I cannot wait until the day we say, 'I do'.
