One of Christopher's favorite ways to waste a few hours. Be sure to check out the Lionel Operating Club's semi-hidden model train diorama tucked amongst the antiques! Open 10-6 Fridays and Saturdays.
Waterfront Park
For a sunny option in the downtown area, Louisville's Waterfront Park provides a tranquil setting to commune with nature alongside the Ohio River. If you have time, the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge leads across the way to downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana and drops off right in the middle of the Saturday Farmers Market at Big Four Station from 9:30 to noon.
NuLu
Packed with an eclectic array of galleries, shops, and restaurants, NuLu (short for New Louisville) has exploded in recent years and is fast becoming the place to be for small businesses just outside of the downtown area. Perfect for a lazy day of putzing and shopping, be sure to check out what is regarded as the best chocolate chip cookie in the city at Please & Thank You Coffee!
The Louisville Zoo
October can be a fantastic time in Western Kentucky for a little outdoor fun at the Louisville Zoo. While there, be sure to say hello to King Louie, their beautiful white-scaled American Alligator!
