Question

How do we get home from the reception?

Answer

Checker cabs have 24 hour service: https://www.checkertransport.com/contact

Question

How long is the drive?

Answer

To those who live below the bridge, Ask not how long the drive is, but how many hours until you get sick of watching the landscape change from suburbia, gradually noticing more Northern trees, listening to your roadtrip playlist, watching the sun move across the horizon with unmitigated view. How many hours until you stop at the Mackinac bridge for a photo by that crystal clear blue water, then cross the bridge and stop at Clyde’s for a burger and a shake. When will you get to the crystal clear beaches that beckon and follow you for miles until you start heading North to anticipate the Pictured Rocks. When you finally see Lake Superior, will you believe it was only a few hours ago you were in your house, with no idea the beauty and expanse that awaited you up North? To remind you of your unlimited potential and the beauty you come from and all of the other romantic things big lakes with sunken ships make us think of. And when you pull in to Marquette and reach that perfect blend of civilization, summer vacation and outdoor beauty, will you still care how long the drive was?

Question

Where will we stay?

Answer

Marquette has many hotels, campgrounds, motels and cabins you can reserve! It’s very popular in the summer so book early. We will have a hotel room block also.

Question

How did you meet?

Answer

We met in the summer of 2011 at Washtenaw Community College. Karelyn was attending UofM and Josh was about to attend the University of Toledo. We were lab partners and when the class ended Josh asked Karelyn if she liked the Foo Fighters because he had 2 tickets to a concert at The Palace. Karelyn said yes and the rest is history.

Question

How old is Molly? Where did you get her? (you probably don’t actually care but we’ll tell you anyway!!!)

Answer

Molly will be 8 in November. We adopted her from the Humane Society of Huron Valley when she was 2 months old. She was, and still is, the biggest scaredy cat ever. She is highly food motivated and helps Karelyn cook by eating vegetable scraps. Her favorite is cherry tomatoes, especially the ones that she eats off the plants at grandma’s house. She loves people to a fault, has never run away, and is a great hiking companion. If you know Molly, you know she has her own “language” which consists of many long and short howls from an unknown breed of either husky, beagle, wolf, coyote or some other animal in her lineage. She’s a true mutt and is very very intelligent. We love her endlessly!
