How We Met/First Date

2/28/2010 2+28+10=40

It was destined to be and written in the stars, unknown to us. Before we knew each other, Tara was working at a store in Dallas, and Mike was working at a store in Arlington. While Tara was working in Dallas, Mike had an opportunity to work at the same store that Tara was working at. Mike decided to stay in his store in Arlington. A few months later, Tara was offered, and took, a promotion at the store Mike was working at. Mike helped Tara transition into her new role, at her new store, as an Assistant Manager. After working together for a few months, we went on our first date at an Italian restaurant, called Boston's. We had a great time and connected right away. We began started going out more frequently, and staying up late on work nights. We lived off each other's company and got only a few hours of sleep each night before, we had to go back to work the next morning. Monday's were pint nights where Tara would try to keep up with Mike beer for beer, which she could never do. We talked about so many things and never seemed to run out of questions, or things to talk about. Whether it was past life experiences, or what we wanted or saw in our future, we found that we had a lot in common. We both spent a good amount of time in the Midwest and our parents raised both of us with similar morals and values. Nonetheless we saw eye to eye on so many levels.

The Yes Day

10/13/2018 10+13+18=41

Mike took Tara to The Keg, this was one of the first nicer restaurants we went to together when we first started dating. Mike was so nervous about the restaurant being so busy, he looked at Tara and said, "There are a lot of people here." Tara looked at her watch, it was about 8:oo pm and said "Well it is prime dinner time, and they are getting their food now, we are about to order, so it should die down in a bit." Sure enough the restaurant started to empty out, and we were the only ones in our area. After we ate our dinner, we thought about dessert. Mike said he needed to go to the restroom while Tara looked at the dessert menu. Mike came back from the restroom and sat next to Tara and told her that "Things had to change and things can no longer stay 'status quo', I'm breaking up with you!" Tara looked at Mike with a confused look on her face, knowing he wasn't serious. Mike then took Tara's left hand, which was right next to him, and put a beautiful ring on her ring finger and said, "Things have to change because, you are going to marry me!" Tara immediately started crying happy tears and we hugged and told each other that we loved each other. Tara then try to look at her new ring and became upset. Tara couldn't see the ring through her tears and said, "I can't see it, it is all blurry!" The waiter came by and asked us if we just got engaged. We told him yes! He then said, "You said you weren't celebrating anything special tonight?" Tara told him, "I didn't think we were!" He then brought out a dessert free of charge to help us celebrate our engagement.

The Best Day

04/18/2020 4+18+20=42 08/15/2020 8+15+20=43

Our wedding date! Notice that our first date added up to 40, our "yes" date added up to 41, and our best day adds up to 42. Mike will be 38 years old and Tara will be 39 years old, when they get married. So our ages, along with our special dates added up, turn out to be consecutive numbers: 38, 39, 40, 41, 42! And our new date adds up to 43.... Just another sign that this was all written in the stars for us! We are so excited for you to celebrate with us at Lake Travis, this is the lake where we truly fell in love with each other!
