The Mehndi is a fun and lively celebration usually held the night before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity. This event will bring both families together for an evening of celebration and dancing. During the event, Sabrina will get intricate henna designs on her hands and feet, symbolizing love, luck, and happiness. Guests will have the option to get simple designs done on their hands as well. Attire: The Mehndi is all about joy and celebration, expressed through colors, flowers, and music. We encourage guests to wear bright colors and floral prints (and bring dancing shoes!)
3:00 pm - 11:45 pm
Indian wedding ceremonies are vibrant and full of rich traditions. The event will begin with the baraat, where Karan will arrive at the wedding venue in a festive procession, accompanied by his family and friends dancing to music. Once Karan arrives, Sabrina’s family will welcome him and his loved ones and take them to the mandap, the central structure where the wedding ritual will take place. After everyone is situated, Sabrina will enter, accompanied by her brothers, and make her way up the aisle to formally begin the ceremony. The ceremony is filled with music and prayers, making it a beautiful and spiritual occasion that celebrates the coming together of two families. Central to the ceremony is the pheras, where the couple circles a sacred fire, symbolizing their commitment to each other and their shared future. Attire: You’re welcome to wear Indian or Western attire! Please do not wear red, as that is the bridal color in Indian culture.
