Some love stories are written in the stars. It began at a dinner at Senor Patron in Atlanta where a couple Atlanta girls were meeting some guys from Dallas, Texas which led to a night out in Buckhead. Ayushi was no where to be found and Karan was distraught he would never see her again. Karan got her number from Ayushi's bridesmaid, Subanti, and texted Ayushi to join them for brunch the next day. Ayushi came to brunch much to Karan's surprise and this began a cross country friendship. For the next year, they would speak intermittently- just a simple "hey! how are you?" Ayushi eventually went to University of Oklahoma in OKC to begin graduate school. Karan saw this on Facebook and texted Ayushi that Dallas was only 3 hours away... so they met up for dinner once or twice. Soon after, Ayushi moved to Chicago and again, they were separated by more distance. Fast forward to Ayushi's 26th birthday, Karan was in Chicago and came to her birthday happy hour. The two soon realized that they couldn't fight against the magnetic pull between them & that they wanted to "do life" together despite the obvious miles between them. And well, that brings us to where we are now...
Picture this, the Jamaican sun is setting over the Caribbean Sea. Ayushi slips into a cocktail dress expecting to meet Karan at the seaside dinner location at 7:30pm. Much to her surprise, the hotel staff directs her towards the pier. Karan is waiting there and takes her hand, the pier is covered in rose petals. Then, he guides her to the gazebo which is at the end of the pier. For a second, there is silence and all you can hear is the waves hitting the rocks as that moment settles in, Karan gets on his knee and ask the most important question he has ever asked, "Ayushi Acharya, Will You Marry Me?"
