To tell this story properly, we have to start from the beginning. July 2018: Ma sends me a silly Facebook post (this is a regular occurrence & to be completely honest I usually open these messages and don't watch the video or open the link and just respond like I did LOL) The message is a video of the recently viral lip syncing videos that had been circulating the internet. She says (verbatim) "This cop is hot...& loves dogs. You should date him" I reply with an LOL and agree and then carry on my day. Fast forward to August 2018: I travel to West Palm Beach to begin training for her new job. Shortly after arriving at my hotel the night before my 1st day at work I pull out my phone and start scrolling Bumble. I see a handsome cop with cute dog and swipe right. *MATCH* Send first message to said handsome cop "Sup" and get an immediate reply. We chat all night and while getting to know each other he mentions a viral video he made featuring a popular Britney Spears song and it clicks - this is the "hot cop" that Ma told me I need to date! What are the chances? We laugh (send screenshot proof that the informal introduction happened a month prior) and plan a 1st date for later in the week. August 21, 2018: I wake up to a sweet good morning message from "hot cop" and the conversation immediately continues from the night prior. After finishing my 1st day at work "hot cop" texts to ask if I'm free that night for tacos and margaritas. Normally I'd decline, but the conversation the night before was so effortless I accepted and we met at Rocco's Tacos in Downtown West Palm Beach that night for our 1st date. Michael showed up late and I was already 2 margaritas deep...it could have been disastrous, but apparently 2 margaritas deep is my sweet spot and the date was perfect. After dinner we walked to the pier where we talked about Post Malone and shared our 1st kiss. We go to Rocco's Tacos every year on August 21st to celebrate our anniversary and relive our first date.

July 2020: While visiting my family in California for the 4th of July Michael asks me to marry him under a full moon in front of family and friends on a mountain top overlooking my tiny hometown while fireworks blast off in the distance. It was fairy tale like proposal and I'm so thankful that some of my family was able to be there for the special moment (and Michael's family was secretly present via video chat) August 21, 2021: here is where you all come into the story. WE'RE GETTING FUCKIN MARRIEDDDDD!!! We picked our anniversary so Michael never has to remember a new date. The party is going to be lit and we hope you all are ready to dance/drink your socks off after witnessing the beginning of our forever together.
