Kara and Jeremy met in college ( go Baylor Bears!) at an ATO formal and committed one another to memory. Jeremy added Kara on Facebook and would check up on her over the years while he was in California and she was in Boston. Jeremy moved to Houston after graduate school, and Kara moved to Houston a couple of years after... into his same apartment building... literally on top of him... two floors above his unit. Kara struggled with her move to Houston, but was certain that it was in God’s plan. One thing she prayed in this decision-making process was that God would hit her over her head in such an obvious way that she couldn’t misinterpret when she met her husband ... and boyyy did He listen! The day Kara moved into her apartment complex, Jeremy spotted the girl he would look up on Facebook every so often, moving a mattress into an elevator with her dad. He made sure to casually walk by her in the parking garage as she struggled to move her belongings into a freight elevator. He acted surprised, stating, “Kara King! Is that you?” Only for her to respond, “Hey youuuuu- oh, you are a Paxton, aren’t you? I’m so sorry, what is your first name?” Even though God delivered the very specific and obvious way Kara requested to meet her future partner, she wasn’t ready to date Jeremy just yet. They remained friends for nearly a year until Kara called Jeremy to save her from a horrible date one night (a whole other story) and the rest is history!!
