The Big Day

August 16, 2020

The big day started with breakfast and mimosas and setting up the lawn area for the ceremony. Everyone was so willing to help, which made the process easy and quick. The girls were back to the house to get their hair and makeup done, while the boys had some fun on the jet skis before they had to get ready. Once everyone was finished getting ready, I had a first look with my bridesmaids and then my dad. They were such wonderful moments, but the most special first look was between Bryce and myself. We read our vows privately in the front of the house. Those few minutes were so special and we’ll always remember. After the first looks, it was go time! Our handful of guests were already down by the water in their seats. The wedding party drove down to the ceremony in style in golf carts. Everything was perfect... except the heat. It was 105° during the day and let me tell you, it was HOT! That definitely will not be a detail that will be forgotten. After we said our “I do’s,” we took all the pictures and the reception began. We were still able to have a local taco truck bring a full taco bar! We also had our lovely friend bake a delicious wedding cake along with beautiful cookies and cake pops for everyone to eat. Listening to all the heartfelt speeches made us all laugh and cry. Our night was wrapped with a fun send off and then Bryce and I were driven away in a limo to a quaint Airbnb right on Lake Chelan. August 16th couldn’t have gone any better. Even though we had a “Covid wedding,” we wouldn’t have changed a thing! We were surrounded by some of our favorite people and spent a beautiful day together that we’ll never forget. We wish we could have had our reception in Anacortes to celebrate with all the people we have missed. We hope you and your loved ones are doing well, and we will see you soon. Love, Karah and Bryce

How We Met

November 11, 2016

We met online back in 2016 and we’re so happy we did! Bryce was living and working at Deception Pass and I was living and working in Everett. There would have been no way we would have met out in the everyday world because our lives were so different at the time. After talking for a few weeks nonstop, we decided to finally meet halfway-ish in Marysville at a restaurant. When the waiter asked what we’d like to drink, I ordered a Space Dust IPA and then Bryce said he’d have the same. The waiter insisted on us splitting a pitcher. And that’s when the love and adventures surrounding beer started! After many dates, we were finding ourselves now spending every weekend together. Bryce introduced me to his love for all things outdoor- hiking, camping, kayaking, crabbing, etc.! I can’t even count all of the places we’ve hiked and explored since this all began!

The Proposal

June 23, 2019

On a trip in Sunriver, Oregon, Bryce wanted to take me on a hike. We woke up early to make sure we’d be at Black Butte’s trailhead before the majority of everyone else. Once we got to the top, the views were amazing and we had it all to ourselves! We could see the Three Sisters, Mt. Hood and the other surrounding mountains. It was truly beautiful! Whenever we go on an adventure, Bryce will set up his camera on a tripod so he can get a picture of both of us. That’s exactly what he did here! He set up his tripod and placed me where the mountains were still visible through the shot. Once he pressed the self timer button he had 10 seconds. He walked over, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him all while the camera got the most perfect picture! After the shock passed, of course I said yes!
