The Painted Ladies are famous colorful Victorian homes, a can't-miss landmark in Alamo Square park near Golden Gate Park and the Haight-Ashbury district. Golden Gate Park is the largest city park in the US, with a Japanese Tea Garden, Shakespeare & Botanical Gardens, and museums scattered throughout. The Haight-Ashbury district was the heart of the "Summer of Love" and 1960s counterculture movement, and embodies a lively, historic hippie-vibe today. A great place to spend the afternoon walking around!
San Francisco's Chinatown is the oldest in the US and is a rich part of the city's culture. The streets are lined with colorful lanterns, historic temples and landmarks, and traditional restaurants with authentic cuisine. China Live and Mister Jiu's are two of our favorite spots here!
This is the "Little Italy" of San Francisco! Cioppino, which is a famous Italian-American seafood stew, was originated in San Francisco, and the best in town can be found at Sotto Mare. We love Tony's Napoletana for pizza, Molinari Delicatessen for sandwiches, and Original Joe's for a classic Italian dinner.
Fisherman's Wharf is a waterfront district known for its seafood restaurants, stunning bay views, and fisherman shops. Make sure to check out Pier 39, the Sea Lions on the docks, views of Alcatraz Island, and Ghirardelli Square.

Carmel is a special place to us, as this is where we got engaged! About a 2-3 hour drive from the city, Carmel offers a picturesque beach town with storybook cottages and a quaint atmosphere. Danny would tell you that it has the best golfing in the world at Pebble Beach :) Stop by Tuck Box for brunch, the countless pebble pathways and boutiques for a day of shopping, Mulligan's for drinks, La Bicyclette for dinner, and Big Sur for breathtaking coastal views if you find yourself in Carmel.
