I knew of Smith in middle school but we never really talked. He's a year younger than me and in middle/high school that's a HUGE deal... girls only wanted to talk to the older guys (eye roll - I was so dramatic). The truth is, I've always thought he was super cute. When I officially met him at a high school football game, I freaked out. He was so sweet and I could tell he liked me (yikes!!! He's still younger!!!! & I'm still dramatic!!!). Anyways, I played hard to get and he was very persistent. April 8th, 2014 - after one of his soccer games, he asked me to be is girlfriend in the parking lot of our high school. I said yes and the rest is history!

After 6 years of dating he FINALLY asked me to be his wife! January 16th, 2021 we were going to a nice restaurant in downtown Columbia as a late Christmas gift to each other. I dressed fancy because who doesn't love an excuse to get all dolled up? He told me he'd be there to pick me up around 4:15 and to be ready. 4:15 rolled around and I was finishing up in the back bedroom when I heard someone knock on the door. Why would he knock on the door? He has a key... I didn't think much of it and went to open the door. When I opened the door and saw my best friend standing there, I knew. I smiled, I cried, and I tried not to pass out. She told me to get in the car and she drove me to a historic home in downtown Columbia. When we got there I gave her a hug, grabbed a tissue, and got out of the car. I made the walk to the man of my dreams and there, he asked me to be is wife. I am so ready for forever with you Smith Dawsey! Let's get married!
