I've been blessed to have a sister-in-law like Andrea. She's always thinking of other people, is the mother to one of the most beautiful girls, Nola (flower girl), and happens to fit into the Sievers family very well. Her and my Dad bonded over "health nut" ideals.... and my and Andrea's start to sisterhood all started in the bathroom of La Puerta in San Diego (ridiculously delicious carne asada fries). Cheers to the moment that bonded us! :)

My dearest Smash! We met at UCSD in 2008 where we began our careers as Bone Marrow Transplant nurses. We have stayed friends during her move back to Boston, back to SD, and my move to Portland. When they talk about those friends that you don't maybe talk to for a year but when you see each other you pick up right where you left off, that's her and I. I felt honored to stand up next to her and Brent and watch them get married and feel very blessed that she will be up there witnessing Nicole and I <3 She is also the mother of our sweet ring bearer, Harrison.

I met Wray the very first night I arrived back in San Diego after my road trip back home from college in Omaha, NE. Some random person almost close lined me at a bar called Urban Mo's to give me hug, and placed my hand into Wray's and said bye. That was in 2008 and we have been friends ever since. I even followed her from San Diego up to Portland (just kidding, we both wanted to move up here, we just did it 6 months apart) I too, was able to witness Wray and Amy get married and I'm happy to say she will be doing the same for me!

Cass-a-frass and I currently work at OHSU together on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit. A few years back we both decided we were going to join Meet Up and make friends. Well, fast forward to today and we in fact never joined Meet Up and went to to meet friends, but in fact found ourselves becoming great friends. We took an epic trip to Bali together where we hung out with the locals and stayed in the rice fields.

Nads is the big sister I grew up with in South Africa. Her family and my family were great friends and hung out all the time! They moved to northern California a few years after we left South Africa and moved to Reno, NV. She is finally back in Cali post a wonderful job opportunity in Australia. Her laugh is infectious! And while we are great friends, we are family too and she will always be my big sister.

My beautiful Goddaughter!!! I used to sit on a yoga ball, bouncing her to sleep singing "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. She is so smart and it has been so hard to not see her for over a year due to covid. She is growing up so fast. The plan was to have her call me Bugsy, because that's what some of my family calls me, but she couldn't say Bugsy when she was smaller so she said "Baboo". While I like Bugsy, I kind of wish she still called me that <3. (For those who are interested, ask my one brother, Rolf, how the name came about.... it's not as cute or as nice as you think, but it's stuck!)

Donovan, Dods, Dodi.... he's all the same person, my big brother. When I was younger he would call me Slimer, and that has stuck! We only get to see him and the rest of his family every 2ish years since they still live in South Africa. Even though it's so infrequently, I am happy we still have a relationship and get to see them minus the distance. I'm listing them as honorary bridesmen and bridesmaids but am hoping some miracle happens and the travel ban lifts and they can be here! <3

We happened to be in Bali a few years back at the exact same time, only found out about 1 month before we left, and I got to see her, on her birthday of all days. Coincidence?! We got to enjoy a lovely seafood dinner, toes in the sand, with her friend, Marsha, and my friend, Cassie.

My beautiful niece! Boy has she grown. She is currently doing aerial dancing in South Africa. There are restrictions with the ribbons and such d/t covid and disinfecting but she has a setup at home. For those that know me, I love seeing AWOL (aerial without limits) perform here in Portland. I'm hoping maybe one day I'll get to watch Erin perform <3

It was hard to just pick one picture of this guy. The other older brother. The father of Nola. Rolfus and I are quite different people but over the years, have grown up and grown closer. I am proud that he not only gets to stand up and witness Nicole and I get married but that he gets to be the person that officially marries us!
