Our Story

Kara and Matt, two immature, awkward-stage kids in high school became friends in 2003. They spent many nights hanging out with their friends in the Slatterys’ shed and in Jay’s basement (not underage drinking of course). After high school, both went their separate ways but stayed friends. Luckily, Matt’s best friend and Best Man, Brett, and Kara both attended Framingham State which resulted in many visits from Matt. But still, just friends. Fast forward to 2014. Kara was teaching in Framingham and living at home. Matt had begun his career at the DOC and just switched to the day shift. The two began spending more time together—going out with home friends, going to college friends’ birthdays in Boston, and alas, the very first Red Sox game and what you could say was “the first date” on Kara’s Birthday. Almost exactly 4 years later, on July 23, Matt asked Kara to marry him on the beach on Cape Cod and #slatsallfolks!
