Our special love story came to be freshman year at Kansas State University. As two crazy 18 year old kids navigating college and independence for the very first time little did we know we'd find true love in the midst of it all. In typical freshman year fashion, Chi Omega was the sorority just down the hill from the ATO house and we'd often do socials with the boys up the street. All of us girls started making friends with ATO boys and Luke was one of them. In February 2018, Kara needed a date to the sorority date party and one of her friends suggested Luke. Karas only requirements were that he would be a fun date & not get her in trouble. At the time, not knowing each other too well Luke agreed to go and the night went great! We hit it off at the party and continued to stay in touch and as time went on a little crush started to develop between the two of us. In March we had a huge group of our friends take a trip for spring break to South Padre Island (the destination of our dreams! haha!) and we were able to spend some time together beyond class and weekend socials. We got back to school that following week and Luke and I have been inseparable ever since! We started dating shortly after April 12th and have been best friends since that day. We've gotten to experience date parties and formals, Nancies at Rock-A-Belly, admission into Optometry School, senior year backyard fire hangs with friends, and first job offers together. We got to share those pivotal moments of our late teens and early 20's together and now have such fond memories of how it all started in the place and with the people we love most. After graduation Luke moved to Phoenix AZ to begin Optometry school and Kara moved to Orange County CA for her first big girl job. Between lots of frequent flyer miles and 2 hour + phone calls a couple times a week Kara was able to make the move to Arizona to be closer to Luke just 1 year later. Luke took the U-haul and Kara + her cat Harlow drove to Scottsdale to be together again! We now are all under one roof + our golden retriever puppy, Hayes living out our desert dreams and still as in love as ever. Luke popped the question in December 2023 back where the story began on KSU's campus. We celebrated all night long with our families and closest friends who have been there since the beginning.
