Devon House Ice-cream
Devon House I-Scream is an internationally recognized, award-winning ice cream parlor currently ranked #4 in the world by National Geographic. This world renowned establishment is known for its wide variety of unique, locally-sourced flavors like Rum and Raisin, Grape Nut, Devon Stout, Mango, Soursop, and Blue Mountain Coffee. The original location in Kingston, Jamaica is situated on the grounds of the historic Devon House Mansion that was built in 1881 by Jamaicas first Black millionaire, George Stiebel. The site is a national heritage area offering a comprehensive cultural experience, including tours of the mansion, other eateries, and shops. The ice cream is highly popular with both locals and tourists, making it a beloved Jamaican institution.
Reach Falls
Reach Falls is located in the Portland parish of eastern Jamaica, within the Montane Forest of the John Crow Mountain Range, approximately 45 minutes east of Port Antonio. It is known for its lush rainforest setting, clear river, and a secret underwater cave that visitors can swim through. If you’re thinking of visiting Reach Falls or Reich Falls, as its sometimes spelled, during your stay, the hours of operation are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m, Wed-Sun. Boston Beach
Boston Beach, located east of Port Antonio in Portland, Jamaica, is a popular coastal destination famous for being the birthplace of Jamaican jerk cuisine and one of the few surfable spots in the country. Visitors can enjoy surfing, swimming, snorkeling, and delicious food at the nearby Boston Jerk Center. The beach features soft, sandy shores and amenities like restrooms and showers, with water equipment rentals and lessons available. While there is a restaurant on-site, you can also bring your own food or purchase it from the nearby jerk pits. Entry costs about 200 to 500 JMD ($2-$4 USD) depending on the day and season. The fee is for the upkeep of the facilities, including restrooms and showers.
