There has never been another first date story that perfectly illustrates the individual personalities of the two people. However, Kenny's first date was technically on a different day than Kara's first date... Kara and Kenny met on Hinge, a dating app. Kenny did the planning of the first date and arranged the date on Friday night, as he had a golf scramble on Saturday. Kara was on her Nights rotation in residency, meaning that Kara was always really tired on Friday nights by the time she woke up after her Thursday night shift. But Kara really liked him and decided she’d muscle through it- she’d set several alarms, ensuring she'd wake up and be her charming self on the date. We all know Kara has an interesting relationship with sleep, hence the wedding hashtag #KaratakesaKnapp. She even awkwardly asked Kenny to call her to make sure she woke up for the date, which he later admitted he thought was really strange...But Kenny being the sweet man he is, of course agreed. But when he called, Kara didn't answer...and she didn't answer his texts either...Had she stood him up? After waiting a half hour at Main Event (the planned venue), Kenny drove home dateless. Around 11pm he hears from Kara- she had slept through not only his call, but 3 alarms. If you know Kara, you know this is not surprising. Hey, a girl needs her beauty rest! She apologized profusely and he definitely waited several minutes before responding to her texts. But ultimately, Kenny forgave her and agreed to try again the next night. Yes, he left his golf scramble early for this (aww!). They went to Main Event that Saturday and experienced Kenny’s perfectly planned date. In true dramatic fashion, Kara told her friends the next day that ‘I’ll probably marry him’. Kenny was a little more even-keeled about his feelings, but he was truly smitten as well. Kenny would go on to plan everything to a tee, and Kara would sleep through many more events… but they would go on many, many more dates.
