Memory Lane

October 2018

October 2018

CO

Josh and Kara first met in their junior year AP Government class. Kara was instantly smitten and determined to make Josh her *new best friend.* Josh, on the other hand, wasn’t so sure about the energetic girl bouncing in front of him, talking a mile a minute. But with a little perseverance and some help from friends, they started spending more time together. Eventually, Josh couldn’t resist Kara’s charm (or some may say stalking ... that's of course a story for another time), and on October 5th, 2018, he asked her to be his girlfriend. Now, seven years later, we’re celebrating our wedding on the anniversary of the day it all began—welcome to our 7th anniversary celebration!

High School

High School

Slowly but surely, we became a part of each other’s families, joining in on holidays and special celebrations. We experienced all the big high school moments together—from informal homecomings to prom nights and even a very unconventional (*thanks, 2020*) graduation.

College

College

We both gave college a shot—Josh took online classes through Gulf Coast State College, while Kara attended Regis, living on campus and surviving on cafeteria food. Needless to say, Kara spent most weekends (and plenty of weekdays) back home. It was during that year that we both started to realize—maybe Florida would be a better fit!

Panama City Beach Move

Panama City Beach Move

In July of 2021, Josh and Kara packed up their lives and made the big move to PCB, with her family in tow and a U-Haul filled with everything we thought we’d need for a fresh start. It was a daunting leap into the unknown, but one that led to incredible opportunities! Josh continued growing his YouTube career, while Kara transferred to a local Starbucks and nannied on the side for fun. But that didn’t last long—because, in true Josh fashion, he turned to Kara one day and said, *“Hey, how about we start a business?”* And while everyone might assume this was the beginning of Zoomies, it was actually *not!* The first idea was a softwashing business, and Josh was so committed he even bought a van—which we *roller painted* ourselves.

Zoomies

Zoomies

At last, the opportunity to start Zoomies—the dream Josh had talked about for years—finally came to life. We dove headfirst into branding, marketing, construction, and learning everything we could about dogs. In May of 2022, we opened our first Zoomies location, and it has been life-changing. It has opened so many doors, introduced us to incredible people, brought us a third dog and given us both a true sense of purpose and direction. Since then, we’ve launched a second location and are now working on our third. It’s been a tremendous amount of work, but without a doubt, the most rewarding journey we could have imagined.

Now

Now

Luckily, hard work does pay off, and we’ve finally found a better work-life balance. We've built an incredible group of friends here, taken plenty of weekend getaways, and even managed to plan a wedding—all while building our home and growing Zoomies. It’s been a whirlwind, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

We're Getting Married!!

We're Getting Married!!

On January 17th, 2025, Kara had planned a double date—a perfect evening watching the sunset on the beach, followed by dinner at a beautiful restaurant in 30A. Little did she know, just 15 minutes before leaving the house, Josh decided *“today is the day.”* With the help of their friends, Rylee and Ethan, he quickly put a plan in motion. To keep the surprise, Josh set up a decoy—suggesting they stop by Rylee and Ethan’s new home to take photos, which just so happened to be near the lot where he and Kara are building their future home. As they posed in front of their "SOLD" sign, Josh led Kara to check out the “property line.” But instead of pointing out boundaries, he got down on one knee and proposed—right where we will begin the next chapter of our lives and grow our future family. Everything leading up to this moment has been nothing short of perfect, and we can't wait to celebrate our marriage with all of you on October 5th, 2025!
