When people ask me how Gavin and I met, most people don’t believe me when I say he picked me up off the side of the road. But he really did! We were both attending Gaston College but had known of each other since middle school. To make a long story short, I was carpooling with a friend and she got mad at me (I think? We haven’t spoken since that day) and left me at school. As I’m standing on the curb trying to get someone to come get me, here comes Gavin in his truck. He asked if he could take me home and of course his nice truck was a lot better than a taxi ride (no one else could come get me). This is where you would expect me to say the rest is history, right? Well you’re wrong. Gavin and I would start texting... when he would respond, it would take him days to respond and when he did respond. he would just pick up the conversation where it left off, never giving an excuse as to why he didn’t respond for four days. After two months of back and forth through text, me being the person I am, it was time to lay down some rules. I finally got the courage to ask Gavin if he was ever going to ask me on a date or not. I was tired of playing his game. Gavin finally took me on a date to McAlister’s (I couldn’t make my mind up and still can’t) and this is where I say the rest is history!
