Almost one year after Kara and Kyle moved to Raleigh, they met in July 2016. They matched on Bumble and had their first date at Caffe Luna in downtown Raleigh. Knowing Kara was getting ready to leave for two weeks for a work trip, Kyle asked to take her out to lunch the very next day. The rest as they say is history.

After three years of dating, Kyle decided to pop the question. While family and friends planned a "labor day weekend trip" to Asheville, Kyle orchestrated the whole thing. Outside of the Biltmore Winery, he got down on one knee and asked Kara if she would be his wife. Her first words were "duh," and the weekend was everything he could have ever hoped for.
