Great downtown area with shops, restaurants, and bars
Bend has a startling abundance of world-class breweries clustered close together like the gold at the end of a big, beer rainbow. Bend has more breweries per-capita than any other city in Oregon and has been dubbed Beer Town USA! If beer isn't your thing, that's okay. Bend's growing selection of distilleries and wineries are a great way to quench your thirst for adult beverages, so make sure you check out the Drinkable Diversions along the Bend Ale Trail while you're in town.
When hot lava hits cold water or snow, it turns into obsidian instead of pumice. Think Dragonglass from Game of Thrones.

Great desert hiking. Bring lots of water and wear a sunhat!
This museum is AWESOME! Definitely worth checking out. It tells all about the history of the first settlers in Oregon.
This is a safe, lazy river float that starts at Riverbend Park and ends at Drake Park in Bend. It takes about 70 to 90 minutes to do the float. Rent float tubes, stand-up paddle boards and other floating devises at Riverbend Park. Once you finish the float there's a bus that will take you and your floating devise from the ending point in Drake Park back to the starting point at River Bend Park. Cost for the bus is $4 (bring exact change). The sun is strong in Central Oregon so be sure to have sunblock, shirt, sunglasses and a hat for the float.
The Lot is a one of a kind eatery in Bend, Oregon that takes the food cart pod to a whole new level. With the variety of five carts to choose from, there are many options to satisfy your street food cravings. The open-air seating area has a clean modern feel with built in tables and a bar serving beer, cider, kombucha and wine. The 16 tap handles rotate, giving a wide variety of local and regional pints to try.
Drink cider!
Amazing hikes with epic views and world class rock climbing
Phil’s Trail is a complex of intersecting trails of varying degrees of difficulty offering hundreds of miles of sweet singletrack. It is THE local’s choice for mountain biking. The trailhead is still just minutes from downtown Bend, but the opportunities for exploration are endless, as riders span out west toward Mt. Bachelor. The system reaches its apex at Swampy Sno-Park on the Cascade Lakes Highway.
