They first met at a bar on the last weekend that Carly was in LA for Spring Semester junior year of college, it was May 2016. It turns out, Carly had spent the semester at an internship on the Warner Brother's lot, where Joel had just started his first year at The Ellen Show. He had been seeing her a few times while getting coffee in the morning on the lot, but decided not to say hi and just admire from afar. Anyway, as luck would have it, one night at a bar, Joel happened to see the girl from Warner Brother's. He explained that he recognized her from the lot, chatted for a few minutes and exchanged numbers and social media, because Carly was going back to New York days later. However, Carly had shared her plan to move to LA the next year after she graduates. Joel counted the days. Fast forward to March 2017 when Carly moved to LA, they match on Bumble, a dating app. At long last, the day Joel had been waiting, wishing, praying for, was here. He texted her to say "hi guess this means you're back in LA". BUT that was it for a few months, he was playing the long game, and spoiler alert - it worked out. 7 months later, in October of 2017 he finally asked her on a date. He picked her up saying, “I’m in the Porsche that looks a lot like a 2004 Honda CR-V.” That was funny. They had a very nice date. The rest is history. That was almost 8 years ago. He planned a beautiful proposal in August of this year and they can’t wait to celebrate their love with you all!
