Q & A

Question

Can I come for just the wedding?

Answer

Yes! If a weekend at camp isn't for you, we understand. We would still love to see you for the ceremony and reception Saturday night. Please see the travel page for nearby hotels!

Question

What does "Garden Party" attire really mean?

Answer

Semi-formal or cocktail attire is perfect. Think colors, prints, florals and more! Some ideas include linen suits, midi dresses, jumpsuits, colorful/patterned button down, etc. Ties are not required. Boat shoes, loafers, sandals, wedges & small heels are all good footwear options. There will be some walking to move from the ceremony over to the party.

Question

What should we expect if we decide to stay at camp?

Answer

In addition to running a Jewish summer camp, OSRUI also operates a year-round retreat center with hotel-style and dorm-style lodging. All rooms come with comfortable linens & towels and are air-conditioned. You can see more by visiting OSRUIretreat.org

Question

How does payment work for all of this?

Answer

For those staying at a nearby hotel, you should go ahead and book directly through our hotel block on the "Travel" page. There are no additional costs for your attendance at camp. For those who we have confirmed are staying at camp, we will collect payment ($100 per person) through Venmo, Check or Zelle. Please see our lodging confirmation email for payment details. Regardless of where you stay, all meals & activities are included at camp (Fri dinner, Sat breakfast, Sat lunch, Sat dinner, Sun brunch).

Question

Are we eating camp food all weekend?

Answer

If you know us, you know that we don’t mess around when it comes to good food! This will not be the icky mess hall grub you remember from your summer camp days. You can expect nourishing food with many options at every meal as well as some special treats throughout the weekend (wouldn’t be camp without s’mores!!) We are also happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions/allergies as long as you let us know in your RSVP. *All food served from the camp kitchen will be Kosher style. All of the meat served from the camp kitchen will be certified Kosher meat. The cocktail hour and wedding reception meal will be served by an outside caterer.*

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We know that traveling away from little ones for a weekend can be challenging, please give us a call so we can make a plan for your family that works if this is a challenge for you!
