FAQs

We know that traveling for a destination wedding involves a bit more planning, and we want to make your trip to Sayulita as easy as possible! We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions here, but if there’s anything else you’re wondering about, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We don’t have an official dress code, so wear what makes you feel great! If you’re unsure, ‘beach cocktail’ is a helpful guide: think breezy fabrics, colorful prints, and summer suits. The celebration will be at an open-air palapa, so keep the warm evening in mind.

Question

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be partially on grass, so we recommend block heels, wedges, or dressy sandals. Stilettos might be a challenge on the uneven streets and at the Palapa, but if you're up for the challenge, go for it!

Question

Can I drink the water?

Answer

Please stick to bottled or filtered water! All reputable restaurants in town (and our wedding venue) use purified water for their ice and drinks, so the margaritas are perfectly safe!

Question

Do I need to exchange money?

Answer

Yes. While some larger spots take credit cards, Sayulita is a cash-based town. We recommend withdrawing Pesos from your home bank or at the PVR airport ATMs. ATMs in town can be unreliable and often run out of cash. Tip: When using an ATM, always select "decline conversion" when prompted to accept their exchange rate. This ensures your home bank handles the conversion at a much fairer rate.

Question

How do I get around town?

Answer

Sayulita is very walkable, but the streets are narrow and often made of cobblestone. Most guests rent golf carts to get around. If you’re staying in the South End near the venue, you’ll be able to easily walk to most places, but a cart is great option for quick and easy transportation.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

November is one of the best times to visit! Expect highs around 82°F and lows around 70°F. It’s usually sunny and dry, but the humidity can still be high, so stay hydrated!
