About eight years ago, we met in downtown Nashville in the most unexpected way. We were parked in the same lot — I was backed into a spot waiting for my next Uber ride when a fancy Cadillac Escalade pulled in. Out stepped a tall man dressed to the nines — somewhere between Inspector Gadget and Men in Black. He walked over and warned me not to park there because people at the rooftop bar sometimes tossed glass bottles that could land on my car. That simple moment sparked a conversation, and we kept seeing each other over the next few days. Fast forward eight years… and here we are, still laughing about the day we met and so grateful that a random parking lot encounter turned into our forever.
