Longwood Gardens
Longwood Gardens is an American botanical garden that consists of over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows. Dedicate a few hours to this excursion and be sure to take a break in their beer garden. Worth the hike and the hype.
Constitution Yards
Constitution Yards is the seasonal beer garden in Wilmington Delaware. We offer classic American fare , an ever changing rotation of craft beers, seasonal specialty cocktails, and wine. In addition to their food and drink options, they also have live music on Friday & Saturday, sports on the big screen, and of course, Wilmo Axe. Eat, Drink, Relax. They are a dog friendly establishment so feel free to bring your pooch!
The Wilmington River Walk
Our recommended hotel sits right on this river walk. Find local shops and eats as well as mini-golf and Constitution Yards. Kane proposed to Julia along the river in one of the covered deck gazebos on their way from mini-golf to dinner at Bank's Seafood. If you brought your bike, you can take the biking trail all the way down to Old New Castle and back.
Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library
Winterthur is a historic estate on par with some of the most famous estates in the country, such as Biltmore Estate, The Breakers, and Monticello. This unique national treasure, a former du Pont family home in northern Delaware, encompasses an eye-popping mansion featuring stunning interiors, a magnificent 60-acre naturalistic garden, and an unrivaled collection of American decorative arts, all set on 1,000 gorgeous acres. Enjoy tours of the house, garden, and grounds as well as ongoing and special exhibitions in the Galleries, dining and more.
Bellevue State Park
Lots of great walking trails. This is our dog Beaux's favorite place to check out some deer. Bellevue State Park is a 328-acre Delaware state park in the suburbs of Wilmington in New Castle County, Delaware in the United States. The park is named for Bellevue Hall, the former mansion of William du Pont Jr. Many of the facilities at the park were built by du Pont.
Sprouts on Manor
Come check out our family farm stand. Self serve! You might even catch Sue (Mother of the Groom), Kane or the rest of the family helping out. We have the best tomatoes in town!
Brandywine Creek State Park
With hundreds of trails to choose from, we recommend checking out the selection on All Trails first. Many are shaded and wind along the Brandywine River. Brandywine Creek State Park is a state park, located 3 miles north of Wilmington, Delaware along the Brandywine Creek. Open year-round, it is 933 acres in area and much of the park was part of a Du Pont family estate and dairy farm before becoming a state park in 1965.
