Our wedding reception will be held in Pittsburgh's Art and Natural History Museum. Guests are welcome to visit for free admission on the day of the wedding. It's really fun! We promise!
See where the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates play. Find a variety of bars and restaurants between the stadiums. Some of our favorites include Southern Tier Brewery, Voodoo Brewery, Burgatory, Tequila Cowboy, and Shorty's Pins and Pints. Catch a view of the city along the river walk that follows the Allegheny River from PNC Park to Rivers Casino where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers meet to form the Ohio (3 rivers, get it?) For the record, Kelsey does not recommend going inside of the casino.
Take a ride on the Duquesne or Monongahela Incline (https://www.visitpittsburgh.com/blog/how-to-ride-the-pittsburgh-inclines/) and experience views of downtown Pittsburgh from the top. Once on Mt. Washington experience a variety of bars, restaurants, or stop in to see Tyler's brother Nick at his nearby bachelor pad. If he's not serving food or drinks, we recommend... Fancy-ish: Monterey Bay Fish Grotto (top of Duquesne incline) Super fun casual bar/restaurant with good food: Coughlin's Law (top of Monongahela incline)
Find plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, museums, breweries, distilleries, and so much more. Kelsey and her mom have always loved spending weekend mornings here. View the website for a lengthy list of recommendations in this area.
You could have yourselves a whole day just staying by the hotel. Walk around the Pitt campus and see where Tyler and approx. 307 of our wedding guests "earned" their undergrad and/or graduate degrees! It's also a nice stroll to the Carnegie Mellon campus and Schenley Park.
Kelsey's order: Double Egg and Cheese (that I then soak in hot sauce) Tyler's order: Turkey and Cheese There are many locations all over the city so if you venture away from Oakland just look on Google Maps.
Unbelievable crepe-style pancakes. Top 5 best potatoes ever. Everything's great. Highly recommend everyone getting their own entrees and then pancakes for the table.
Would be wrong not to mention, this is where the 3 rivers meet and is a lovely place to walk around.
