Kate's Version: Kate and her good friend Christina were enjoying happy hour at Butcher's & Bakers in Farmington when Christina mentioned she may know someone across the restaurant. Once Christina confirmed, this good-looking guy walked over to say hi. Kate was briefly introduced by Christina, but then politely turned around to continue sipping on her cocktail while the two old friends caught up. A few weeks later, Christina asked if Kate would be interested in going on a date with the guy that she met in the bar a few weeks prior. Kate first asked who? Once Christina refreshed her memory, they set up a group date and hit it off immediately. Kevin quickly asked Kate out on a real first date. The rest is history... Kevin's version: Kevin was out to dinner across the street from UConn medical center awaiting the arrival of his nephew, Ethan when he spotted his friend Christina across the bar. Christina was out for drinks with her cute friend Kate who, at the time, didn't reeeeeeaaaaly seem all that interested in meeting Christina's handsome friend. Several weeks later, Christina asked if Kevin was dating anyone and if he'd be interested in going out with her and her friend on a group date. "She's great! Smart, pretty and the two of you would have a ton in common with your shared construction backgrounds. She's the one you met at Butchers a little while back". Unfazed by the initial interaction, Kevin quickly accepted Christina's offer of a little group date. Kev and Kate immediately connected and Kevin didn't hesitate to ask Kate out on a real date just a week or so later.

Kate closed on a house in Portland, CT on July 20th, 2023. While she was at the realtor's office signing her life away, Kevin was scheming at the new house. Kevin arranged for his brother to come over to take photos of the new house. When Kate came back to the house Kevin brought her into the kitchen to show her the flowers their friend Annie sent to congratulate them on the new house. Little did Kate know that when she turned the corner there was a sign that said Will you marry me? As Kevin fumbled to get the box out of his pocket, he got down on one knee and popped the question.
